Governance
Governance
Great Wakering Primary Academy is one of four schools in The Brickfields Multi Academy Trust. Governance is undertaken by a board of trustees, and they have three core functions:
· Ensuring clarity of vision, ethos and strategic direction;
· Holding executive leaders to account for the educational performance of the organisation and its pupils, and the performance management of staff; and
· Overseeing the financial performance of the organisation and making sure its money is well spent.
Further information about our trustees can be found on our Trustees page.
In addition to the board of Trustees, each school has a Local Curriculum and Standards Committee; details below.
Local Curriculum & Standards Committee
In addition to the board of Trustees, each school has a Local Curriculum and Standards Committee. The Local Curriculum & Standards Committee is made up of individuals who are staff, parents, community members and a trustee from the Brickfields Multi Academy Trust.
The aim of the Local Curriculum & Standards Committee is to work alongside the school and the Board of Trustees to support continuous improvement to ensure the school can be the best it can be for the benefit of all our children.
The Local Curriculum & Standards Committee meets formally at a least three times a year. The role of the Governors is to support and provide constructive challenge to the Head of School in a way which promotes school improvement and also feedback local issues to the Trust Board.
The Governors ensure positive outcomes are being achieved for all children in the school and therefore part of their role is to review how the school is working in the following key areas:
Safeguarding:
Special Educational Needs and Disabilities
Standards; inc. Attendance and Behaviour
Stakeholders; Staff, Parents, Pupils;
Each committee member recognises the importance of child welfare and keeping children safe and this therefore remains an important priority for the Local Curriculum & Standards Committee.
If you are interested in either becoming a committee member or finding out more about what we do please feel free to contact us via the school office; admin@greatwakering.essex.sch.uk or 01702 219435
