History
All children will be inspired to learn about the past and recognise how people and events have shaped their lives and can shape their future
History is about events that have taken place in the past, whether it was yesterday or hundreds of years ago. We want our history curriculum to inspire our children to become curious about the past and understand how the past has influenced life today; by asking questions, examining evidence and developing their own perspective and judgements. From KS2 our history curriculum is taught in chronological order, beginning with the Stone Age in Year 3 and finishing with World War II in Year 6. Linking our history teaching to our 8 key concepts makes sure each concept is built upon allowing a wider schema of knowledge to grow.
