Our aim at Great Wakering Primary Academy is to offer a meaningful learning environment where children can access the curriculum and thrive. We want children to be able to enjoy learning outside the classroom and to be able to make progress. We want to alleviate the stress and pressures put on children and offer them a place that is inclusive, where they can work in a positive way with less constraints. It offers freedom, independence and self- expression.

Outdoor learning has significant benefits for children and young people. It enhances their physical, mental, emotional, cognitive and social development, as well as fostering a connection with nature. It improves general well-being and promotes more inclusive, holistic and engaging learning. 

Furthermore, we aim to provide every child with rich opportunities for creative, collaborative and active outdoor play - cultivating environments that are safe, yet thoughtfully challenging to support children's continual growth, confidence and development.  We are continuing to develop a diverse range of playground activities and zones designed to enrich children’s experiences throughout the school day, enhancing learning both inside the classroom and during outdoor play. 

We’re delighted to have received some amazing scooting accessories from Micro Scooters for use in our outdoor play area. Along with their well-known 3-wheeled scooters, Micro also offer a selection of balance bikes, nursery products and 2-wheeled scooters.
